Tell Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio: Open Up NYC Now

This pandemic has shuttered businesses and led to the loss of livelihoods of so many of our fellow New Yorkers. Cuomo’s own numbers put us within a percentage point of reopening.

We need to restart our economy and allow people to get back to work so that they can continue to provide for their families. Now we know that through social distancing and the freeing up of area hospital beds that we can do so safely.

Meanwhile, our neighboring states and nearby regions of New York State are already being opened for business. It is both unfair and impractical for Staten Island to be held back by other areas while nearby parts of New York and New Jersey are already beginning to open up.

We do not have any public hospitals, nor any geographic or major transportation connections to the rest of the city. We should not be held to the same standards as areas with so many different variables.
