The executive committees of the Conservative Party of Kings County and the Conservative Party of Richmond County have jointly nominated and endorsed Michael Tannousis in the 2020 election for the New York State Assembly’s 64th District. The seat is currently held by Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis who has carried the party’s endorsement for each of her five terms and is now vacating the seat at the end of her current term in order to run for the U.S. House of Representatives.

“The Kings County Conservative Party is proud to endorse Michael Tannousis for State Assembly. We know that he will fight against the far left agenda that is being promoted by the state legislature that threatens the safety and security of our communities and is bankrupting the state. Michael Tannousis will stand up for his constituents and will be their voice in the State Assembly.” said Kings County Chairwoman Frances T. Vella-Marrone.

“Michael Tannousis is a very impressive candidate for State Assembly,” said Richmond County Chairman David Mario Curcio. “Not only is he is an accomplished attorney, but as a former prosecutor he knows the criminal justice system well and will be an effective advocate in opposing liberal policies that undermine our law enforcement and their efforts to keep our communities safe.” “Michael Tannousis will bring a superior background, knowledge and understanding of the issues in Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn to the State Assembly. He is certain to become a legislator who the conservative movement can count on.” said NYS Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar.

“I am honored to the have the endorsement of the Conservative Party and to be their standard-bearer in Staten Island and Brooklyn next year. For years, this party has helped elect incredible public servants to office on both sides of the bridge, and I will continue in the tradition of the great conservatives that have come before me. I am grateful to State Chairman Jerry Kassar, and County Chairs David Curcio and Fran Vella-Marrone for their support.” said Michael Tannousis.

The Conservative Party made the difference ten years ago in helping to elect Nicole Malliotakis to this seat, defeating a two-term liberal Democrat. The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
